Harness yet again.

  I'm actually starting to think I have some sort of fixation for harnesses. Well I don't mind. I know they might look quite S&M for regular day wear but I don't care. 

The harness is separate piece. I was going to slightly sew the harness to the dress from the sides but I noticed that it was much easier to get into the dress it they were separates. I never do just tube type of dresses but this time I did because the harness has already so much going on.

The harness is real leather that I bought from Eurokangas Outlet. Same leather that I used last week or the week before that for the waist belt. The size is slightly adjustable because of the 4 buckles in the front.

I putted rubber band inside the top part of the dress so that it would stay up properly and I would not have to keep pulling up the dress all the time. I was afraid of it sliding down because the jersey that I used was quite heavy. I tried the dress and it didn't seem to fall even a little bit. Yay!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And then I wanted to make very simple top with O-ring detail to give it small bondage feel to it. I wanted to keep this top extremely simple for regular day wear. Again I used viscose jersey because I like the feel and stretchiness of it. Well not much to say about this top because it is so simple but I wanted to show it to you guys anyways.

Spine earrings

Same theme seems to be continuing this morning than yesterday. I seem to have some sort of theme for every week. We'll see what else I'll be doing today. Maybe a spike back jacket?

 I decided to make these cool spine themed earrings for me. Since I really like long dangle earrings. And of course I had to but small spike in the bottoms because I have not used any kind of spikes on my clothes for few days now. The earrings are really light weight even thought they are quite long.

Spine dress

Last night I started making this amazing dress for me. 

It is made out of 2,8 meters of cotton jersey. So it actually takes that much of fabric to make this dress. I bought only 2 meters and I had to make a seam between the pleats. You can't see the seam but it would have been better to make it out of continuous piece of fabric. It took me 6 hours to finish this front section! It was pain to make the pleats because it was soooo boring and my neck and shoulders were killing me.

I really wanted to make this dress in dark grey and the store did have dark grey in the quality and quantity that I needed. I bought the last of this fabric and that's why I did not have enough. There was lighter version of almost same kind of jersey but it was 5 €/meter more expensive so this dress would have costed much more to make.

The dress does not fit the mannequin properly since it does not have arms or even proper shoulders it the dress seems to be a bit loose but it isn't really. At least on me.

I'm really pleased with the finished dress and can't wait to get to use this. And also I need take few pictures of me wearing this beauty.

 I was going to leave the back just blank but Mr. Grumpy said that I can't let be that boring since the front has so much going on. And he was right. So I made the back with this spine looking pleated thing.

Stuff that you can't see it the picture are small shoulder pads that I made. Also small zipper on the side. I know the fabric is jersey and does not really need a zipper but the front of the dress does not stretch because the pleats.

I'm really inspired to use this technique to make a another dress, a skirt and a jacket with the spike in the back. I'm in dire need of more fabric.

Rogue goes business

For some reason I wanted to make a vest with zippers on the waist. The vest ended up looking quite "formal" well as formal as I can look but I don't really mind. My vision wasn't quite clear at the fabric store. And mostly the problem always seems to be that even if your plans are done you are never going to find the exact kind of fabric that you were visioning of using.

  Also I had tough time deciding want kind of collar I wanted to make. I wanted the fabric to have some kind of texture on it and I found this. Not exactly what I wanted since the fall fabrics have not yet arrived to Eurokangas. I used thin cotton for lining since I did not want to use regular lining fabric. I don't like the feel of it because it is so slippery.

The fabric was 17,90 €/meter I managed to make this out of 0,7 meters. The cotton fabric was 6,90 €/meter and I needed this fabric 0,4 meters. And the zippers were 3,85 € a piece and I used 2 of those.

So with my calculations the full amount was 23 €

Since I had such trouble deciding what kind of collar to make on this one I decided that I'm going to make another one for the fall and winter. It is going to look whole lot different. Only thing that is going to look same is the bottom part. I'm planing on making it out of one cool wool blend fabric that I saw at Eurokangas. I'm going to add either real or fake leather. The front is going to be solid and there is going to be high collar. 

This morning I also made this leather strap dress. It has smocking on the shoulders and on the bottom part of the dress on the sides. The fabric is some sort of stretchy viscose blend. I really like the feel of the fabric. I spray painted the buckles since I was not able to find black buckles anywhere. The back side of the dress also has V-shaped neckline.

Tomorrow I'll be selling my personal items at Hämeenpuisto Puisto Fiesta flea market from 11.00 till I don't know yet. If you have time please come and see my flea market table since I really want to sell some stuff and clear out some closet space... Lots of jewelry, clothing and shoes.

Gothic splatter

I do this kind of clothes very rarely that come so close to the neck. I don't know if I'm afraid of getting chocked or what but not everything has to be so open and sexy. So I decided to make one. 

Collar has smocking on the side seams. There is small elastane inside. Also I decided to continue the smocking on the shoulders. I wanted to keep this dress very simple so that I can wear it with a wide belt or big necklaces. And since the fabric has already so much going on it is not good good to add so much different shapes to it but that's just my opinion.

The fabric is stretchy cotton jersey. I really like the print but it does not like to be stretched too much or the print will crack. So I had to take notice of this while cutting the fabric to make it slightly bigger than I usually would. 

Once again this fabric was found from Eurokangas fabric bins. I make great finds from those but the only problem is that they are usually just small pieces and you will not be able to find more of it. 

With the cross necklace it seems to be very Gothic but it looks totally different with other accessories. This dress would also look good made out of just plain viscose jersey or maybe with my logo on top...hmm.....

I once again wanted to use the left over fabric usefully and made a beanie out of it. Beanies are great for the fall and spring.

Shredding

Yesterday evening was interesting since I went to the movie theater with Mr. Grumpy. The theater room was empty it was just us two. Kinda spooky but also kinda cool. It did not mater if we ate candy and the packaging made noise.

I've wanted this kind of shirt for a while now. There is lots of them in Etsy but I rather do it myself. Finally last night I decided to make one. Just before leaving for the theater I managed to shred this shirt and wear it to the theater. It took almost 3 hours to shred this shirt but I think it was time well spend and quite therapeutic at the same time. 

I did the same thing for 2 sleeveless tops in the back side. They are not yet done since I'm going to put a print in the front. The other one is going to have 2 praying skeletons and the other one is going to have deer antlers. 

I wanted to keep this shirt simple so that I can accessorize it with like a long necklace and earrings. Yesterday I wore it with short shorts and sandals.
